What a record-keeping tool does not do

A list of limits is an odd way to describe a product. It is also the fastest way to find out whether you need it — and in a market where everyone promises full integration, it is the information most often missing.

Updated

It files nothing, anywhere

No return is generated and none is submitted. What it produces is a picture of your money and an estimate of what you are about to owe — useful for knowing where you stand and what to ask, not for replacing a form.

Filing stays where it is today: with your accountant, or with you, through the official channels.

It does not connect to your bank

No Open Banking, no bank credentials, no ability to initiate a payment. A statement comes in as a file you upload — CSV, PDF or an archive with a whole year in it — and you see what was read out of it before anything reaches your figures.

That is less convenient than an automatic sync, and it is a choice: nothing reaches your money without you pressing a button, and the app holds nothing it could move money with.

It does not replace your accountant

An accountant makes judgements: what is deductible, how income is classified, what to do with a case that resembles nothing. Those carry professional responsibility, and anyone promising you that a screen takes it over is selling you a risk, not a feature.

What changes is what you bring to the conversation. With records up to date and the question already put in figures, the same half hour is worth something else.

What is left

What is left is the question neither your bank nor your accountant answers, because neither sees all of it: how much is really mine, after what I have already promised and what I am about to owe.

It is one question. It comes up every month, and it is usually answered from memory.

What this is not

This is not tax advice. It explains a mechanism, not your case, and it does not replace a conversation with your accountant before you decide anything about money.
